1. Where is Glebe?
Glebe is a trendy inner-Sydney suburb only a 30 minute slow walk or a 10 minute bus trip from the city centre. Glebe has a friendly atmosphere and is extremely cosmopolitan.
2. Is Breakfast included?
Breakfast is included. It is a continental breakfast from 8-10 on weekdays and pancakes are served on weekends from 9-11 to ensure your time is delicious as well as exciting.
3. I’m not leaving until the evening is there anywhere can I store my baggage after checkout?
Yes you can! We have a luggage room where you can leave your bags if you have a late flight. You can also leave them over night or a small period of time if you wish to day an overnight tour or a heading on a small trip.
4. How do I arrange a pick up from the airport?
If you're staying with us for 3 or more nights, we can arrange a free pick-up for you. When arriving at the international airport head to bay 29 which is located on the right side where all the buses come. There you will find the KST shuttle bus. At the domestic airport the KST shuttle bus will be located at the left side of terminal 2 and terminal 3. For the price of $13 they will take you to our hostel. If you keep you receipt we will be able to refund the price for you. You will only need to wait 30 minutes for a driver to come and collect you. If you are not staying for 3 nights, you may still catch the shuttle but the price will be $13. Just pay the driver on the bus. The shuttle buses operate from 6am to 9pm.
5. How can I book a return airport shuttle back to the airport?
Just come & see reception 1 day before you want to leave, and we will book the shuttle bus to pick-you up. Cost is $13 one-way. All you need to do is wait out the front of our hostel 5 minutes before the designated time and the KST airport shuttle bus will pick you up. Buses leave from 6am to 6pm.
6. Where can I get Internet access?
We have great computers located near reception that will suit all your Internet needs. They also have facilities to view photos from your memory sticks or cd’s.
7. Where can I book a day tour, flights or bus trips?
Just see the travel desk at reception and we will give you all the information you need on any tour of trip you like.
8. Do you have any safes where I can store my valuables?
We have safes at reception for small items like cameras or wallets. Those can be accessed from 8am in the morning till 1am at night and cost $1 for each time it is accessed.
9. Do you offer any discount cards? (VIP/YHA/ISIC/Student Cards)
Yes we offer discounts for VIP holders and International student cards. This is to ensure that you get the best value for money while staying at glebe village backpackers. If you would like to purchase a VIP card you can do so at reception. Just enquire with one of our friendly receptionists.
10. How easy is it to find work?
Glebe Village Backpackers has been in operation since 1987, and the hostel has a great reputation with many local employers. Jobs come in regularly and there are always workers wanted. Jennifer at reception will be happy to help you get a tax file number and bank account and show you some online sights for job seeking.
